Here are some ways digital photography can be used in the classroom...

For more detailed lessons, please see "Lessons" page.

  • Use photos in weekly/monthly newsletters to show parents what is being done in class.
  • Add a photo to report card envelopes showing child demonstrating a particular outcome (especially for math, using manipulatives).
  • Make a class photo album. Students can write about themselves under photo and then look back at the end of the year.
  • Use as writing prompts.
  • Have students bring in photos of family or home for writing and discussion.
  • Make math books: Counting (number books), patterns, measurement, adding/subtracting...
  • Take students outside to photograph signs of the changing season.
  • At the beginning of the year, photograph random things around the classroom or school, and have a scavenger hunt to find the items.
