There are two ways you can do this:

At the beginning of the year, go around and take pictures of places in the school, then have students find and identify them.

Or, give students a list of things they need to find throughout the school, and give them a camera to record what they found.

It's a great way to have students familiarize themselves with areas, and to talk about where to find things. It also means children slow down and really take a look at their surroundings. They can write about neat things they have come across as a follow-up.
